Loyd & his brother John E lived in the Morgan County, Il area where he met his wife Georgianna "Georgie" and married Dec 26, 1912. Loyd & John's parents were William Edward DANE & Lula V. JOY. I am searching for information in the LOCKWOOD, DOAK, MATHIS, and STUMM families. Here is what I know: The LOCKWOOD family came from Ohio in the late 1850's. Clark I. LOCKWOOD was born near Cleveland, OH in 1836 and was possibly living with his uncle Sylvan LOCKWOOD in the 1860 census. He married Minerva M. DOAK (b. 1837 in Mascoupin Co., IL) in 1860.Clark died in 1929. Minerva died in 1918. They are buried in Bethel Cemetery. They had a daughter Hattie LOCKWOOD. She married Oliver W. MATHIS. Hattie was born ca. 1868 in the Sharpsburg/Edinburg area and Oliver was born ca. 1856. They married on August 31, 1884 and were married at least 50 years (I have a small newspaper clipping stating this, but I don't know what paper it was from -- possibly one from Taylorville). Oliver died in 1940 and Hattie died in 1952. Both are buried in Bethel Cemetery. Their daughter, Lola MATHIS (b. 1885 d. 1979) married Wm. H. STUMM (b. NY 1879, d. 1944) at the Decatur Fall Carnival in 1903. They are buried in Bethel Cemetery. Is there a cemetery transcript of Bethel Cemetery? Is it near Edinburg, and connected to Bethel Baptist Church? I would also be interested in obtaining photographs of their gravestones. Also, which newspaper would have served the Sharpsburg, Edinburg, and Stonington areas from 1900 to 1979, and where would be the best place to write for copies of the families' obituaries?

I am looking for an obituary for Ida POTTS. She was living in Pana, Christian, in the 1930 census, but using the surname of WILLIAMS, her common-law husband. She died August 10, 1935. Can anyone tell me what newspaper her obit would most likely be found in? Will the newspaper do a search if I write them? I am fairly new at this, so any help is appreciated.
