ESTELL, ESTILL, TEMPLETON posted by Janis Templeton Trayler on Thursday, May 5, 2005

Looking for descendants of Robert TEMPLETON and Sarah ESTELL/ESTILL TEMPLETON to verify information I have. Children were Emma Elizabeth "Betty", Frances Rebecca, Theora W. "Ora" (son), Mariah May "May", and John W. These children were born in Illinois and Missouri. Their children were born in Illinois and Kansas, possibly other states I am not aware of. My ancestor is Robert TEMPLETON was born in South Carolina in 1823. He was listed in Tippah County, Mississippi State Census in 1845 as a single man. In the 1850 Federal Census for Tippah County, MS, he was married with two children. He and his wife had five more children. In 1860, she is in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with the children, but he is not with her. The Robert TEMPLETON who married Sarah ESTELL/ESTILL is with Sarah on the 1880 federal census in Henry County, Missouri, with the children named above. That census indicates he is age 57 and was born in South Carolina. Are these two men the same men? Any information appreciated.

DAVIS, POLIN posted by Cynthia Crandall Little on Friday, May 20, 2005

I am seeking information about the family of Job DAVIS (b. 1809, Kentucky) and Elizabeth (Eliza) R. Young (b. 1810, Virginia), children John H., Elisabeth, Amanda Jane, William J., Lucy, Emily, Edward M., who lived in Taylorville, Christian County. The oldest two children I believe where born in Kentucky, but their daughter, Amanda Jane was born in 1839 in Taylorville. Amanda was married to Henry POLIN in 1856 in Christian Co. The mother and children then show up in the 1860 census in Nebraska next to Henry and Amanda. I am specifically looking for a death date for Job or any information on that family. I am also interested in any information about Henry POLIN's first wife, Sara Brown POLIN, who, I have read, died in Taylorville sometime in 1856. Thanks so much.
