DENNISON, Dora RICHARDSON. Supposedly died in Taylorville. Also, Dennison CLARENCE or ST_CLAIRE or ST_CLARE. They were the parents of Mona May DENNISON who was taken from the family by DCFS when both parents were very ill. Mr Dennison may have been an alcoholic. He died before Dora did apparently. Not all of the children were taken. Mona May's twin brother Orville was taken and adopted, along with 2 other children. Mona May was placed in the Soldiers and Sailors home in Bloomington. Anything sound familiar, please help me put the pieces together by emailing me! Sincerely, Ms Troyer

Looking for information on William CURRIE and family. He was b. 08 Jan 1775 possibly Augusta Co., VA, d. 19 Jan 1841, Christian Co., IL. He married Mrs. Tamar IVES JERNIGAN aft. 1816 in Stewart Co., TN. In 1830 Carroll Co., TN a John CURRIE is listed in the census. He died in 1835. He raised a Sally CURRIE b. TN who married Lewis H. JERNIGAN (son of Tamar and Jesse JERNIGAN) . They migrated to Christian Co., IL. His will proven Feb. 1835 lists Sally JERNIGAN (formerly CURRIE), Robert ROACH, Lewis H. JERNIGAN and witnessed by William CURRIE, Alfred CURRIE. A Nancy CURRIE married Hiram GLASS who died in 1842. Nancy remarried in 1843 Christian Co., IL to James PHILLIPS. Is John a brother to William and Nancy a daughter of William? Thomas SHAW is listed in the 1830 & 1840 Trigg Co., KY census. He had two daughters under 5 in the 1830 Trigg Co., KY census. I believe he was married and had the two daughters before marrying a second time to Rebecca Jane ELLIOTT in 1835. Who was his first wife? I am guessing it was a CURRIE and the daughters were Sarah Ann CURTIS and someone marrying a Lewis. In the Stewart Co., TN wills for Thomas SHAW lists grandson William C. LEWIS and daughter Sarah Ann CURTIS. Both were mentioned in the estate of William CURRIE. Could this be another daughter of William CURRIE? Any help on the above is appreciated.

Looking for descendants of Robert TEMPLETON and Sarah ESTELL/ESTILL TEMPLETON to verify information I have. Children were Emma Elizabeth "Betty", Frances Rebecca, Theora W. "Ora" (son), Mariah May "May", and John W. These children were born in Illinois and Missouri. Their children were born in Illinois and Kansas, possibly other states I am not aware of. My ancestor is Robert TEMPLETON was born in South Carolina in 1823. He was listed in Tippah County, Mississippi State Census in 1845 as a single man. In the 1850 Federal Census for Tippah County, MS, he was married with two children. He and his wife had five more children. In 1860, she is in Hot Springs, Arkansas, with the children, but he is not with her. The Robert TEMPLETON who married Sarah ESTELL/ESTILL is with Sarah on the 1880 federal census in Henry County, Missouri, with the children named above. That census indicates he is age 57 and was born in South Carolina. Are these two men the same men? Any information appreciated.

I am seeking information about the family of Job DAVIS (b. 1809, Kentucky) and Elizabeth (Eliza) R. Young (b. 1810, Virginia), children John H., Elisabeth, Amanda Jane, William J., Lucy, Emily, Edward M., who lived in Taylorville, Christian County. The oldest two children I believe where born in Kentucky, but their daughter, Amanda Jane was born in 1839 in Taylorville. Amanda was married to Henry POLIN in 1856 in Christian Co. The mother and children then show up in the 1860 census in Nebraska next to Henry and Amanda. I am specifically looking for a death date for Job or any information on that family. I am also interested in any information about Henry POLIN's first wife, Sara Brown POLIN, who, I have read, died in Taylorville sometime in 1856. Thanks so much.
