KILER, Jacob, (b 1819 PA, d 1855 IL) married in 1843 to Editha SHOCKELY (b 1823 OH, died 1898 OH??) Their only surviving child was Uel L. KYLER, called U. L. (b 1851 IL, d 1906 IL). He married in 1873 to Nancy MATHEWS (b 1854 England, d 1881 IL) His second marriage was to Nannie Leon HARPER in 1897. (b AR, d CO) there were several children but no issue from any, so that line died out. U.L.’s only children were William E. KYLER who married Charlotte, (no further info on these), and Herman G. KYLER (b1874 IL, d 1951 WI) who married Anna Elizabeth AYMER (b 1875 IL, d 1952 WI). There are five sons from that marriage. Merlville, Lester, Harold, Herbert, and Russell. At one time or another, all of these people lived in Taylorville, Christian County, IL. They are all buried there in Oak Hills Cemetery. except for the last five. If anyone knows anything on any of these names, please contact me. I would appreciate hearing from you and would love to trade information with you. AYMER, Thomas (b 1849 ENG, d 1906 IL) married Mary Jane BECKINGHAM (b 1850 ENG, d 1890 IL). They had nine children including Anna Elizabeth AYMER who married U.L. Kyler in 1873. If anyone knows anything about Thomas Aymer, his brother Charles who immigrated to Canada, Mary Jane, or any of their children, please contact me. I'd love to trade information with you. Thanks

My great-great grandfather, John M. "Jack" LOOPER left Clinton Co. KY about 1866 and settled in Christian Co. IL. He is found on the 1870 Christian Co. IL Census. His family had moved back to Clinton Co. KY by the early 1870's. He had five daughters, born between 1867 and 1880, with the first two born in 1867 and 1869 in Illinois. The third daughter was born in KY in 1871, so their stay in Christian Co. IL was probably 5 years. John M. Looper was a Civil War soldier on the Union side in the 13th KY Cavalry, Co. E. Wondering what would have taken the family to Illinois? Many Clinton Co. KY people left after the Civil War and settled elsewhere.

He is said to have been a good lawyer and quite popular; died in Taylorville; He was was a brother of E. A. MILLER, Martin MILLER. Under the nom de plume of "East Sangamon" he wrote and published in the Springfield Republican several able articles advocating the division of Sangamon county. Soon after the formation of Taylorville, he made it his residence. He was a candidate for county clerk in 1840, and was defeated by only a few votes; was elected county school commissioner August 4th, 1845, without opposition. At one time he was a deputy sheriff'. He was admitted to the bar in this county, and as a practicing attorney received a liberal share of the cases in court. In August, 1847, he was elected county clerk for a term of four years, but died
