I'm interested in CRAIG, LEATHERS or related families that lived in the Morrisonville area. My great-grandfather was James Edward CRAIG, born Feb. 22, about 1863/64. His twin sister was Jennie CRAIG who married Richard A. LEATHERS on Oct 25, 1885 in Christian Co. The twins also had a brother William CRAIG who lived in Morrisonville until he moved to either El Reno or Enid, OK, after about 1924. If this sounds familiar to anyone, please contact me. I'd like to learn out who their parents, or any other siblings, were so I can continue my search. I have information to share on the descendants of James Edward CRAIG.

Searching for the father of Hannah Augusta GUDEHUS, wife of John Jacob KUHN (died 14 Aug 1899), who married in Christian County 4 Dec 1869. Hannah died 1 Jan 1913. I believe her father's name was William GUDEHUS (GUDHUS), possibly married (a second wife) to one Victoria or a Mary SPECHT in 1879 (speculation). Any information regarding William would be appreciated. Hannah and John are parents to Caroline Barbara KUHN, born 1840.

I am searching for information about a HUNTER family who lived in Christian County in the late 1800's. My great-great-grandfather was Bert Homer HUNTER born in Pana, Christian Co. Il in 1878. From his obituary in 1933, I know that in 1933 he had the following surviving brothers: Charles, James, Edward, William, Glenn, Ray, John and sisters Mrs. Nina WRIGHT, Mrs. Claude KIMBRELL, Mrs. Alex SCHLEGEL and Mrs. Mattie HATTON. His mother's name in 1933 was Lucy (Elizabeth?) BAFFORD. I know that the youngest brother, John, has the last name of BAFFORD and was born about 1893, so I assume that Bert's father died and Lucy remarried. I don't know the name of Bert's father or where he was born. Bert was married to Cordelia MANES and lived in Stanley, KN from 1900-1911 where he had three sons with Cordelia, LeRoy, Lester Floyd and Bert Jr. and two children from a second marriage to Helene McClellan, Helene and Jamie. Any information about Bert and his parents or Cordelia MANES would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for any information on Phebe RICH COLEMAN ELLIS, Francis COLEMAN, and Nellie May COLEMAN. I know that Nellie May died in 1909 after having suffered from brain damage caused by a dr. having prescribed chloroform as a from of treatment for "worm spasm" I believe that Phebe and Francis Coleman were divorced but I need to know where to find this out. At the time of Nellie's death there is no mention of Francis, and Phebe was then known as Mrs. Ellis (George) and at the time of Francis death in 1911, he was killed by a train in Pana, there is no mention of Phebe, only his surving children, one of who, Mary Etta, was my great grandmother. Phebe died in 1913 and is buried in the Linwood cemetery in Pana and Francis is supposed to be buried at the Price Cemetery, but there is no stone.
