Looking for information on George PETTUS and wife, Margaret JOHNSON PETTUS. This family was in Sangamon Co. in 1850, living with the household of Margaret's father, Thomas JOHNSON. Margaret appears as head of household in 1880 in Christian Co. with children, Cora, Minnie, Iona and Lee. Margaret's older brother, Robert JOHNSON, is also living with her in 1880.

Their children were: Austin Pollock READ (1852-1906), Cecilia Frances READ (b abt 1854), Jessie Fremont READ (b abt 1857), John Bright READ (b abt 1859), Lydia Helen READ (died young), and Lydia Jane READ (b abt 1869). The above Austin READ married Fernettie ?. Their chidren were Bessie, Mary, Clarence, William, Clyde, Ethel, Nellie and Claude. The above John Bright READ married Nancy WARREN and had at least the following child: Edward McNary READ (b 1896). John may have also been the parent of Jennie READ (b 1882) and George READ (b 1886) from another marriage.

I'm looking for information on David M. MOORE, who in 1881 bought an 80 acre farm in Christian County (or so family records go.) He was born 7/8/1833 in Licking County, OH -- married Ellen BRIGGS 11/19/1866 -- moved to IL before 1861 when he mustered into the 64th regiment, A Company of the IL Infantry -- he then moved to Nebraska in 1877 and back to Christian County in 1881. I have some records of his war service and am looking for anything anyone might have on him and "anything" on his wife Ellen (Nellie) BRIGGS other than she was born in La Salle and died in 1872.

I am looking for information on Francis Marion CONLEE. He is listed in the 1876 Marriage index for Christian Co. He is listed as marrying Miranna DANIELS. These two are my great grandparents. All I know of them is that they Had my grandfather in1878 in Collin co, TX. and we are told that Miranna died shortly after my grandfather Geroge Francis CONLEE was born. Francis seems to have been a wonderer, because I find him again as marrying a Henrietta DANIELS in Arapaho co, CO in 1878. Perhaps a sister or aunt to Miranna. Then he is listed along with Henrietta in the 1880 cesus for Arapaho co. Again in the 1890 city directory for Denver, CO as a painter. There is also a Mark CONLEE listed as being a barkeeper at the same time. Then Francis is listed in the 1892 voter registration for Chicago, Ill. his place of residence is listed as Penn.
